About 7500 students have applied compared to just under 6500 last year.

The USP said the increase was across all sections and at all regional campuses where it was offering an increasing number of programmes.

The university's main campus is in Fiji as well as smaller campuses in all of its 11 member countries.

It's enrolling new students until this Friday and existing students until 26 January.
