Man charged with attempted murder after hitting cyclist with car

A man is due to appear in Porirua District Court on Saturday, charged with attempted murder after a cyclist was hit by a car in Kāpiti.

Police were called to Marine Parade in Paraparaumu about 1.40am on Saturday morning.

The cyclist suffered a broken leg and other injuries.

The 33-year-old faces charges of attempted murder and failing to stop to ascertain injury.
