Fiji's military says its troops in the Sinai Peninsula are safe, despite continuing clashes between the Egyptian military and Islamic State militants.
This week's clashes have left more than 100 dead in one of the largest co-ordinated assaults by Islamic State on the peninsula between Egypt and Israel.
339 Fijians are currently serving in Sinai as peacekeepers in a UN Multinational Observer Force.
The Fiji Times reports the Land Force Commander, Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho, saying Fijian troops remain safe despite the recent volatility in the peninsula.
He says he's confident in the steps that the Multinational Observer Force is undertaking to ensure the troops' protection.
