The man who raped and murdered Blessie Gotingco before dumping her body in a North Shore cemetery has lost his appeal for name suppression but still cannot be named.
The 28-year-old lost suppression when he was found guilty of the rape and murder of Mrs Gotingco by a jury at the High Court in Auckland in May.
He immediately appealed and took his case regarding name suppression to the Court of Appeal.
That court today rejected his bid to keep his name secret but has continued an interim order for two days in case he takes his case to the Supreme Court.
The legal arguments surrounding the case are also suppressed.
