After an opening round five under par 67 at the Vancouver golf club, Ko hit a second round 68 to tie the lead briefly, before being overtaken by Taiwan's Candie Kung.

Kung sits at 11 under for the tournament two strokes ahead of Ko and the round one leader from Fance, Karen Icher.

Ko, who fired four birdies in her bogey-free second round, has won the event twice before as an amateur in 2012 and 2013.
