The Central Pulse have succesfully defended their ANZ netball Premiership title with a 43-31 win over the Mainland Tactix in Invercargil.
Despite losing to the Tactix just two weeks ago the Pulse were the dominant team in the final, giving their outgoing coach Yvette McCausland-Durie a fitting sendoff.
The Pulse started strongly and led by 6 at quarter-time, they extended that to 10 at half time and went into the final quarter with a seven goal advantage.
The Tactix got within five goals in the final 12 minutes, but the champions powered away for a comfortable victory.
It is the last game in charge for Pulse coach Yvette McCausland-Durie who decided to step down a couple of weeks ago after four years in charge.
Pulse captain Katrina Rore paid tribute to her coach.
"This is for her... four years, four grand finals and that women is absolutely amazing."
"She means a lot to our team."
The Tactix captain Jane Watson was full of her praise for her side.
"You set a new benchmark this year, lets go on and set another one next year."
Pulse shooter Aliyah Dunn finished with a shooting percent of 93 percent, converting 28 of her 30 shots.
