Fiji's police commissioner says officers could soon be armed with tasers after a spate of attacks.
Sitiveni Qiliho said Fiji police were in talks with the Australian Federal Police about the possibility.
It comes after an officer was stabbed to death two weeks ago and seven officers were assaulted last weekend.
Officers currently carry pepper spray and batons.
Mr Qiliho told the Fiji Sun newspaper that not all officers would be armed with tasers.
