Dame Kiri Te Kanawa will take a masterclass for a group of aspiring young opera singers when she visits the New Zealand Opera School in Whanganui next month.
The famous opera singer will teach 22 students, selected on merit from around the country, in a closed-door session.
She will join tutors from the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation's international vocal faculty, which aims to help talented young New Zealand singers develop international careers.
Dame Kiri said the opera school was a natural partner for the foundation.
She will also hold a public "in conversation" event at Wanganui Collegiate on 15 January.
