Police in Papua New Guinea have divided the capital into several zones in a bid to improve policing in the city.
The move comes in the wake of several reports of kidnappings in Port Moresby.
The city's police commander, Donald Yamasombi, said a new strategy will be launched to enhance police visibility.
He said the city will be divided into three operation zones, each of which would be administered by a senior officer.
Mr Yamasombi said street muggings, robberies, sexual offences and car-jackings remain prevalent.
