Moana Pasifika have suffered a heavy loss going down to the Hurricanes 53-12 last night in their Super Rugby Pacific game in Wellington.
The home side gained some revenge for their shock loss to the newcomers 24-19 earlier in the competition.
The Hurricanes dominated up front including scoring a push-over try on Moana Pasifika's own feed.
In all the Hurricanes scored eight tries including one to halfback TJ Perenara - his 58th in Super Rugby which puts him just two behind the record held by Israel Folau.
Loosie Blake Gibson touched down twice.
It was the Hurricanes' third win from seven games, while Moana Pasifika have just one win from seven.
Moana Pasifika captain for the night Christian Leailifano said the team was hurting from such a heavy loss in their final another storm week where they are playing catch-up games because of Covid-19.
"That one has got to really hurt, we just didn't give ourselves a chance to play the brand and the style we wanted to play. We've got to review now and get back up again for Saturday."
The games are coming in thick and fast now for Moana Pasifika with the Chiefs next up, in Hamilton on Saturday.
