Covid-19: NSW records 919 new cases and 2 deaths

New South Wales has recorded 919 new cases of Covid-19 and two deaths.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said 6.1 million vaccines had been administered in the state and "nearly one-third of our population is fully vaccinated".

"The suburbs of concern in greater Sydney and Western Sydney remain Guildford, Auburn, Merrylands, Greystanes, Granville, Punchbowl, Yagoona, Blacktown and surrounding suburbs.

"We urge everyone in those communities to stay home. Please assume you or somebody you have come into contact with as the virus."

New South Wales chief health officer Kerry Chant said almost all those in intensive care are unvaccinated.

"I think this highlights ... the fact that vaccination is the key. We need to increase those vaccine coverage levels and can I just urge everyone to take up the opportunity for vaccination as soon as possible."

There were 645 Covid-19 cases admitted to hospital and we have 113 cases in ICU.

A woman in her had 30s died in her home and a man in his 80s from Sydney's North in hospital.
