Lewis Clareburt's maiden Olympic campaign has come to an end after finishing last in his second final in Tokyo.
The Wellington swimmer has finished eighth in the final of the men's 200m individual medley, one and a half seconds off the podium.
Clareburt clocked a time of 1 min 57.70 secs, slightly slower than the times he recorded in the heats and semifinals.
China's Shun Wang won gold in 1 min, 55 secs, with Great Britain's Duncan Scott claiming silver ahead of Jeremy Desplanches of Switzerland.
Clareburt finished seventh in his specialist event, the men's 400m individual medley, on Sunday.
