A former Fiji government minister is seeking asylum in Australia.
Kenneth Zinck has told the ABC that his safety in Fiji can no longer be guaranteed.
Mr Zinck became a minister in 2001 but lost his seat in the 2006 election - seven months before the military coup.
He claims he has been repeatedly physically abused by Fiji's military.
