The Government has a smaller number of media staff than the previous Labour Government.
Information obtained by Radio New Zealand under the Official Information Act show the current Government employs 14 fewer media staff than Labour.
Prime Minister John Key has five media staff, compared with Helen Clark who had 11.
However, National is paying more. Three media staff working for Labour were paid more than $120,000 per year.
Ten of the current Government's top media people are paid that amount.
