Another supply drop is planned to kayaker Scott Donaldson as he battles his way across the Tasman in an attempt to be the first to make the solo trip by kayak, Radio New Zealand reports.
Scott Donaldson left Coffs Harbour in Australia on 29 April but has been hampered by technical problems.
The 43-year-old was running dangerously low on food and water last week, when a rescue pilot and his son made the 600km round trip to drop supplies.
Pilot John Funnell said a second flight will leave New Plymouth on Thursday morning to drop more water to the kayaker.
The drop was planned to take place later this week, but Funnell said a shortage of water and adverse weather have brought forward the timetable.
Funnell said the flight will also try to drop off a repair kit to fix a rudder problem.
