Further carrier expected on Australia New Caledonia link

There are still expectations in New Caledonia that an additional airline will provide a service between Noumea and Australia.

Noumea's daily newspaper says Pacific Wings of Australia has to clear a legal hurdle before it can offer flights to mainly Brisbane.

The paper says the carrier plans to use an aircraft of Nauru's airline, Our Airline, to fly the route.

No dates have been set for any possible launch but a new authorisation has to be obtained if flights haven't started before the end of April.

Flights between Noumea and Queensland are being offered by Air Calin and Qantas.
