Sport: Manu Samoa feel at home in the California heat

11:20 am on 22 July 2015

The Californian heat is making the Manu Samoa rugby team feel right at home ahead of this weekend's Pacific Nations Cup clash with Fiji in Sacramento.

Both teams made a winning start to their PNC campaigns at the weekend, with Samoa beating the USA in San Jose and Fiji holding off Tonga in Suva.

Temperatures in the Californian capital have hit a high of 38 degrees Celsius this week, but Samoan hooker Manu Leiataua says the players aren't complaining.

"Bit like Samoa so that time in Samoa - the preparation against the All Blacks - I think has helped us for this heat and I think Fiji will bring something a bit different than the USA. They're much more bigger boys so hopefully we can handle them this week".

Samoa have no injury concerns from last weekend's match, with all 31 players fit and available for selection.
