Rural funding in Solomons no longer going straight to MPs

Taiwan's Ambassador to Solomon Islands, George Chan, is backing a decision by the new Solomon Islands government to change the way funding is handled for individual constituencies.

Previously Taiwan had supplied money for the Rural Constituency Development Fund and MPs were responsible for distributing the funding.

Mr Chan said this is a good move to benefit and develop rural Solomon Islanders
