A Christchurch man who filmed himself coughing and sneezing over people in a supermarket has appeared in court.

Raymond Gary Coombs appeared via video link while in police custody at the Christchurch District Court this morning.
The 38-year-old is charge with endangering life by criminal nuisance and obstruction of a medical officer of health.
He did not enter pleas.
He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on 9 April.
