No more unpleasant surprises wanted: PM

Prime Minister John Key is reminding MPs at their weekly caucus meeting that he wants no more unpleasant surprises.

This follows a disclosure that list MP Kanwal Jit Bakshi, had rented out a house that was being used as a brothel.

Mr Key says he became aware of the situation late last week.

Mr Key says Mr Bakshi told him the tenants had been served with an eviction notice as soon as he found out they were running a brothel.

On his way into caucus on Tuesday, John Key said he would remind his MPs about the 'no surprises' policy he expects as leader.
