Emergency services responded to two serious crashes on North Island state Highways on Tuesday morning.
Police say a crash before 9am on State Highway 1 at Marton, Manawatū, involving a bus and a truck was blocking the rail overbridge between Wings Line and Calico Line.
There were no passengers on the bus.
The serious crash unit attended and diversions were in place.
In a separate incident, a container truck rolled on State Highway 2 at Putorino, south of Wairoa, Hawke's Bay.
The crash, near the intersection with Waikare Road, happened shortly after 8am and was blocking one lane. Traffic management was in place.
