Big MTV team travels to Norway conference

Five members of Maori Television are in Norway for the World Indigenous Television Broadcasting Conference.

The group includes the chief executive, Jim Mathers, and its Native Affairs presenter, Julian Wilcox, two of the group are presenters at the conference, and another is filming the event for an indigenous programme for the channel.

Maori Affairs Minister Pita Sharples says he supports the public broadcaster taking part in the conference.

He says Maori Television is at the forefront of empowering other indigenous people in the broadcasting industry.
