A diver has died at Ōakura Bay in Northland this afternoon.
Police said they were alerted to a diver who had been rescued unresponsive from the water shortly after 5pm.
Emergency services attempted resuscitation but the diver died at the scene.
Police are making enquiries on behalf of the Coroner.
