Over the past three weeks, contenders Andrew Little, Nanaia Mahuta, David Parker and Grant Robertson have travelled from Invercargill to Whangarei speaking to party and union members, trying to win votes for their leadership bids.

About a third of the votes will come from people who attend the meetings, and the rest will either vote online or by post.

The voting system is preferential - so voters have list their candidates in order of preference.

Voting closes at midday next Tuesday and the new leader will be announced at 2pm.
