The New Zealand under 23 football team have qualified for the semi-finals of the Pacific Games with a 1-0 win over hosts Papua New Guinea.
Striker Monty Patterson scored his second goal in as many games at Bisini Field in Port Moresby, putting the Oly Whites ahead on the hour mark.
Patterson's goal, along with New Caledonia's 1-nil win over the Solomon Islands in the earlier Group B clash on Sunday, ensured New Zealand progressed to the semi-finals despite having one more pool match to play against New Caledonia on Tuesday.
The Oly Whites defeated the Solomon Islands 2-nil in their opening match on Friday.
