The iwi of Maori Television's newly appointed chief executive, Paora Maxwell, says his appointment is vindication for the tribe because it shows he is the right person for the job.
Last year, Ngati Rangiwewehi complained about Labour MP Clare Curran making false allegations about him under parliamentary privilege.
Ms Curran accused Maori TV chairperson Georgina Te Heuheu of a link with Mr Maxwell - who was shortlisted for the role as chief executive.
The chair of the tribe, Te Rangikaheke Bidois, says she wants him to achieve in the role to which he has been appointed because of his expertise in the field.
