New Caledonia's pro-independence FLNKS movement has called for the full mobilisation of its supporters for the November vote on independence from France.

Its spokesman Daniel Goa has told a news conference that it is the responsibility of the Kanak people to conclude this 164-year struggle.
Mr Goa said it's incomprehensible if the people are not there when it counts, which is a reference to the Labour Party's recent decision not to take part in the referendum.
He said committees were in place in tribes and communities to explain the FLNKS vision of an independent Kanaky New Caledonia as a multicultural and secular country.
Mr Goa said his side would like to negotiate co-operation and partnership agreements with France for a transition phase should a majority vote for independence.
Polls suggest a majority will vote to stay with France.
