Police have arrested a man accused of drink driving and shooting towards an estuary in South Auckland on Thursday night.
Counties Manukau Central Area Commander Adam Pyne, said the 43-year-old was due to appear in Manukau District Court today on charges of discharging a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and driving with excess breath alcohol.
Police responded to reports of gunshots on Roys Road in Weymouth and took the man and three others into custody without issue, he said.
A shotgun, as well as both both live and spent cartridges were found in the car the group had travelled in, Pyne said.
