Cooper legal associate speaks on govt Abuse in Care apology

"Hollow," is one verdict on the government's apology to survivors of abuse in care. The Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon said sorry ten times over during his speech in parliament, before a packed public gallery. He apologised for the abuse, harm, neglect and torture that happened in care, and said, "I read your stories and I believe you." Cooper Legal represents some of the survivors, who feel let down again, senior associate Lydia Oosterhoff was with survivors watching the apology at Pipitea Marae in Wellington, she spoke to Lisa Owen.
