The director of PNG's Tribal Foundation has described the recent torture of a six-year-old girl as horrific and wants the perpetrators brought to justice.
The girl is the daughter of the late Kepari Leniata who was falsely accused of sanguma, or sorcery, and burned to death by a mob in Mount Hagen in 2013.
Ruth Kissam says because one of the girl's friends had a bad fever, several men had claimed the girl had used sanguma or sorcery to cause the illness and brutally tortured by several men in Enga.
She told Sara Vui-Talitu that an attack on a child for sorcery is not common and the girl is in recovery.
