Four people had already been arrested in connection with the massive drug bust, which saw police intercept close to 500kg of meth - most of it on a washed-up boat on 90 Mile Beach - on Sunday.

Two other men were arrested in Auckland yesterday in connection to the bust and have been in police custody overnight.

The 25-year-old and 26-year-old men will appear in the Manukau District Court this morning.

They have been charged with importing methamphetamine and participating in organised crime.

One of the men has also been charged with money laundering.

Police said the investigation into the 500kg haul of meth was continuing and there may be further arrests.

The seizure was more than the total combined amount of methamphetamine seized in this country in 2015.
