Kangaroos coach wants another four years

07:43 am on 12 April 2014

The Australian league coach Tim Sheens wants to keep his job for another four years to oversee a transition period heading into Australia's World Cup defence.

Sheens, in his sixth successive season as Kangaroos coach, dismissed reports that he was chasing the vacant Warriors job in the NRL, and turned his attention to the ageing Australian team's future.

At the forefront of Sheens' mind is blooding new Test players at the right time, and he's wary of the Kiwis being in a better position by the time of the 2017 World Cup.
