Bougainville determined to get results from JSB meeting ahead of referendum

05:03 am on 28 June 2018

As Bougainville and Papua New Guinea prepare for a critical meeting in Arawa on Friday Bougainville's President says the time has come for Port Moresby to stop procrastinating.

The Joint Supervisory Board, the JSB, which is made up of both governments, is to meet for probably the last time before Bougainvilleans vote on possible independence from PNG next year.

President John Momis is due to welcome PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neill to Arawa today for a preliminary meeting ahead of the formal JSB summit on Friday.

He told Don Wiseman that Bougainville has clear objectives going into the meeting.
