The Lions went to the break 12-6 down after a blistering first 40 minutes dominated by the All Blacks, with tries to new All Black fullback Jordie Barrett and his Hurricanes team-mate Ngani Laumape.

Centre Ngani Laumape opened the scoring after Jordie Barrett had knocked down a cross kick by his elder brother Beauden, following a sustained build-up by the world champions.

The younger Barrett also crossed just before half-time after Laumape got his hands free in a tackle and fed to centre Anton Lienert-Brown, who found the rangy fullback.

Owen Farrell slotted two penalties for the visitors during a frenetic first 40 minutes to take the Lions to the half-time break trailing the All Blacks 12-6.

The Lions moved back into the game with a long-range penalty from winger Elliot Daly one minute into the second half.

The All Blacks were reduced to 14 men once more after Jerome Kaino was given a yellow card for a stiff arm tackle on Lions lock Alun Wyn-Jones.

And another Elliot Daly penalty locked the scores up at 12-all midway through the half before Beauden Barrett slotted a penalty to edge the All Blacks out to a 15-12 lead with 15 minutes to go.

However Owen Farrell stepped up to land a 77 minute goal and tie the game at 15-15.
