A woman who lost her last remaining son in a car crash says the police never told her they were involved in a chase.
Judd Hall, 26, died when a speeding car in which he was a passenger smashed into a Greymouth house on Friday night.
Police had tried to pull the car over shortly before the crash.
His mother, Joe Hall, says the police failed to tell her that when they informed her of her son's death.
Judd was the last of Ms Hall's four sons. Two sons died in the 1990s and a third died in the Pike River mine explosion.
