Amnesty International is accusing the New Zealand government of abandoning its own principles by refusing to condemn Australia's offshore detention of asylum seekers.
This morning about 30 protestors gathered outside the Australian embassy in Wellington to mark the fourth anniversary of the re-opening of detention centres on Nauru and Manus Island.
The protest comes a day after former Prime Minister Sir John Key received Australia's highest honour in recognition of New Zealand and Australia's close bi-lateral relationship.
Emile Donovan reports.
