The Samoa government is endorsing the Ministry of Health's preventative guidelines for the deadly Ebola virus, including aborting some international flights in the event of suspected cases.
The Cabinet has approved aborting all direct flights from Fiji, and aborting flights from Hawaii if there are suspected Ebola cases.
It would also minimise flights from American Samoa, New Zealand and Australia.
The government says there is to also be an increase in the monitoring of yachts, cargo and cruise ships docking at the country's wharves.
There are plans to use the closed, privately owned Medcen Hospital at Vailima as a quarantine and isolation unit, with health workers involved in the prevention and treatment of an Ebola case to be quarantined at the same hospital for 28 days.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in Samoa has already put in place preventative measures such as border control and advising the public to decrease travels to Ebola affected countries.
