Twyford asked 'I step aside' - Civil Aviation Authority chair quits

The chair of the Civil Aviation Authority Nigel Gould has stepped down.

Transport Minister Phil Twyford says he told Mr Gould the CAA was going through some big changes and it would be best to have fresh leadership at this time.

He says he has thanked him for his service to the Civil Aviation Authority.

Outgoing Civil Aviation Authority chair Nigel Gould tells Lisa Owen Mr Twyford had a wish he step aside, which was a surprise, but he was willing to go.
