Dozens of rainwater tanks have been floated ashore to a remote island in the Federated States of Micronesia after it was badly hit by super typhoon Maysak last month
The European Union provided the 5-thousand litre tanks to help the people on Fais collect rainwater so they're better able to cope with drought, changes in rainfall and extreme weather events.
The community is almost completely reliant on rain for its water supply.
The Secretariat of the Pacific Community which helped in the project says it was an extraordinary logistical challenge.
The equipment and 70 containers of fresh water was progressively shipped to the edge of the reef and then floated ashore.
The assistance is part of the Pacific Community implemented, EU-financed, Global Climate Change Alliance.
