Papua New Guinea's new Petroleum Minister Kerenga Kua has given an assurance that the recently signed Papua LNG deal will be reviewed.
The Post Courier newspaper reported the assurance was given at a handing over ceremony between Dr Kua and the outgoing minister Fabian Pok.
Dr Kua said the review will be done to satisfy the government and people that the deal complies with all applicable laws and protocols.
Dr Pok said the agreement is better for the country than the earlier PNG LNG deal.
He said his team had put in a substantial effort to ensure the deal was beneficial to the state, stake holders and landowners.
