Japan has donated aid worth $US2.3 million to help Fijians with the restoration of basic needs and livelihoods following natural disasters.
Fiji's Agriculture Minister, Mahendra Reddy, said it was timely assistance.
He said it will help build resilience amongst these communities, so the costs of disasters can be minimised.
The items donated include five excavators, four dump trucks, one motor grader, four cargo cranes, five twin cabs, four forklifts, four tractors with ploughs, harrows and spare parts and four fibreglass boats.
