Multiple people have been injured - at least two seriously - after reportedly being assaulted by gang members outside a bar in Rotorua.
Police are investigating the incident, which took place shortly before midnight last night outside the Rotorua Sports Bar on Arawa Street.
In a statement, Detective Sergeant Caroline Wharton said it was an unprovoked attack which injured multiple people with one person being kicked in the head and another being knocked unconscious.
The attack continued when a short time later a mini-van of further gang members arrived and other innocent members of the public were caught up in it before the mini-van left again, she said.
Police said no arrests have been made so far and they would like anybody who can help them in their investigation to come forward.
