The man accused of killing roadworker George Taiaroa in 2013 has been refused bail
Quinton Winders, 45, was arrested on 19 November and charged with the murder of 67-year-old George Taiaroa at Atiamuri.
Mr Taiaroa died after being shot while operating a stop-go sign at roadworks.
Justice Toogood denied a bail application made in the High Court at Rotorua this morning.
The trial has been set down for August next year.
