Five people, including teenagers, have been arrested after a burglary in Bethlehem in Tauranga on Friday night.
Police were called to a service station on State Highway 2 at about 9.45pm.
The group arrived in two vehicles and allegedly smashed the night service window. They entered the store and set off a fog cannon, before stealing a small amount of cash, police said.
Officers found one vehicle and five people a short distance from the scene.
Four of the five, aged between 13 and 16, were referred to Youth Aid, while the fifth - a 23-year-old man - has been charged with burglary and was due to appear in Tauranga District Court on Saturday.
Enquiries were ongoing to locate the second vehicle, police said.
