The Film Commission has announced Annabelle Sheehan will take over as its new chief executive in January next year.
Ms Sheehan has been the chief executive of the South Australian Film Commission since 2015.
She previously worked as a senior agent at the RGM Artist agency and headed the Film and Television division at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School.
She has a background in post-production and is credited on such films as Max Max - Beyond the Thunderdome and The Piano, the Oscar-winning film from New Zealand director Jane Campion.
Annabelle Sheehan will take over from the Commission's current chief executive Dave Gibson in January next year.
