Taika Waititi on charity, homeschooling, racism and Star Wars

07:15 am on 24 July 2020

Oscar-winning film-maker Taika Waititi has spent lockdown in Los Angeles with his two children and he's had enough of homeschooling.

As well as writing scripts for Thor, Star Wars and a new Charlie and The Chocolate Factory over the past few months, the New Zealander has been raising money for key workers with a special adaptation of James and the Giant Peach.

He has also featured in an anti-racism campaign launched by New Zealand's Human Rights Commission.

He spoke exclusively to the BBC's Alex Stranger about his lockdown experiences.
