British director Michael Apted is the maker of '56 Up', the eighth episode in the world's longest-running documentary series. Every seven years Apted visits the same people he first interviewed about their dreams and aspirations when they were seven years old. The first episode, '7 Up', made in 1964, with its premise taken from the Jesuit motto "Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man". The series has since topped lists of the best documentaries of all time.
