PNG governor convicted of contempt

The Papua New Guinea Supreme Court in Port Moresby has found the Eastern Highlands governor, Julie Soso, guilty of contempt.

EMTV reports three other people were acquitted on the same charge.

They were the two acting provincial administrators , Samson Akunai and Alvin Inamoi, and the personnel management secretary, John Kali.

Soso had appointed Mr Inamoi as the second acting PA despite a court order not to do so.
