A homicide investigation has been launched by the police after a woman's body was discovered in the south Auckland suburb of Manurewa over the weekend.

The woman's body was found just off McVilly Road around 4.30pm on Saturday.
A post-mortem has been completed, but the police are not providing any further details about the results of this.
The woman has been identified and her family is being notified.
Detectives are looking at CCTV footage from the wider area as they try to piece together what happened.
