Vanuatu's Prime Minister Charlot Salwai has appointed the MP for Efate Rural Jack Norris as the new Minister for Youth and Sports Development.

Mr Norris, who is from the Union of Moderate Parties, succeeds Nato Taiwia from the Melanesian Progressive Party in the role
The portfolio of Youth and Sports had been vacant for two months, following a Supreme Court ruling that Mr Taiwia lost in the election in January.
Mr Taiwia has taken the electoral office and the electoral commission to court to question the counting of votes during the subsequent by-election.
However, the Court's decision means Gillion William from the Graon mo Jastis party has taken back his seat as the MP for Efate Rural.
